Week 10 : Wrapping Up

Image
The picture above is a beautiful tree of cherry blossoms which I took a year ago in Korea. Enjoy your spring everyone!    Now that the class has ended, I am uploading this final post to wrap it up. However, this might not be the last post if I keep working on it. Over 10 weeks of assignments, some of them were very easy but some of them needed more time to complete. It was a great opportunity to experience and actually use different types of social media, such as Twitter and LinkedIn. Those two media were very strange and unfamiliar at first, but now those feelings are gone. Also, I liked how people commented on each of my works and how we shared our thoughts on our class blog. Lastly, the greatest take-away of the course I think is that now I have my own personal blog. It was my first time to constantly keep up my blog with the topics that I am interested in. When I look back what I have done...

Week 9 : Marketing Plan Project and Powerpoint Presentation

Image
Hello everyone! It is really getting close to the end and I hope you all had a great day.   This week's assignment was to go over what we have done throughout the quarter and put it into a Powerpoint. Powerpoints are definitely a good way to show what we have done so far! I like the way how Slideshare provides countless numbers of presentations, but when I uploaded on the site I found that the slides were not that clear and looks so blurry. So, it might be hard to read since I have a lot of words on each pages. However, I have tried hard to look organized and to fulfill all the requirements that I needed for this week's task.   I hope everyone to enjoy my slides about the final project by simply clicking this link. https://www.slideshare.net/YooJeongKim2/social-media-marketing-final-project-90197241   Also, I look forward to see what you guys think about my work! Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Week 8 : Statistics on My Personal Sites

Image
Spring is coming along the way. It's already March and almost getting close to the end of quarter! On the first week of March's assignment, I am going to talk about my statistics on my personal sites I have participated so far. These sites include Facebook, Blog, LinkedIn and Twitter! Let's see one by one. On Facebook, I have posted 2 times in January and 6 times in February, and this post is going to be the first post in March. Currently I have 27 friends. Most of them are Social Media Marketing course classmates but few of them are friends from the Facebook group I joined. Also, I joined one more public group which is "PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games." Statistics are more interesting about my personal blog. Until now, 773 pageviews were made and I have 10 followers. The audience part is the most amazing. Total of 370 audiences came from United States of America which ranked the highest and it followed by Poland (210), Ukraine (50), Jap...

Week 7 ③ : Strengths and Weaknesses of Using Social Media Networks and Online Communities/Groups to Facilitate Business Networking and Potential Market Research

Image
Hello everyone, it's already the end of February and week 7! It's quite chilly these days, so keep yourselves warm everyone! The assignment that we did for this week was interesting. It was my first time to join an actual online community and to communicate with the members! My previous online communities were just for school work which was just used to upload important upcoming events or assignment due dates, so there were absolutely no interaction between the members. Now that I think about it, that wasn't really a 'community'.   However, the groups I participated just a few days ago were very informative and responsive. Many members were willing to share their thoughts and ideas by commenting and pressing the 'like' buttons. Especially, in the "Travel Community" group I really liked how people were suggesting the best places to visit and to eat (delicious food is definitely an important factor). I think that group can be help...

Week 7 ② : Participating in Facebook "California Photography" Group

Image
The second online group I joined is also in Facebook and the name of the group is called "California Photography." In the 'About' section, their description is "Welcome to California Photography to share photographs and memories of our Golden State." There are 6,748 members in this group and I am one of them, including 6 admins and moderators. In this community, members upload their photos that are taken in California. All of the pictures are really fascinating and make me want to grab my camera and visit that places someday! I really think the 'Recommendations' section is useful because the members in the group actually recommends that places by posting a photograph that one has taken of oneself.

Week 7 ① : Participating in Facebook "Travel Community" Group

Image
As can be seen from the screenshot above, the first online community I participated for this week's assignment is a public group in Facebook called "Travel Community" . In the description section, the group introduces itself as 'a place for like-minded people to engage with others that love to discuss travel.' There are 21,173 members in this group which include 4 admins and 7 moderators.     I commented to a member of the group who was concerned about whether to book a hotel room or choose Airbnb because he is going to travel internationally for the first time. From my own experience of travelling to Paris, I recommended him to choose Airbnb :) In addition, this was a post by a new member (just like me) discussing about her brilliant idea of starting a podcast about people who have gone on an adventure to research something they are passionate about or to uncover a mystery, I definitely thought it was an amazing i...

Week 6 : Blog Stats

Image
By clicking the 'STATS' section, I could see amazing data about my blog! Let me first answer simple questions required for this week's assignment. How many total views did you have last month? 450 views How many followers do you have? 10 followers What are the traffic sources URL’s? https://elearn.extension.ucr.edu / http://m.facebook.com https:// www.facebook.com/   What country is most of your audience in? United States What browser do most of your views come from? Firefox(45%) What is the percentage breakdown by operating systems? Windows (53%) Which post had the most views? "Week 3 : How can using a Twitter help build my brand? What are the strengths and weaknesses of using Twitter as a SMM tool? "(231 views) The outcome was very interesting! Not only people in the United States visited by blog, but also people living in Poland, Ukraine, and Geramany viewed by blog. Going worldwide, huh? In addtion to that I was really surpr...
